It has been a long time. I am happy to be back barefooting.
I have been home for just over 7 months. I tell you, I really did a number on my feet. The good news is that I have (finally) learned some valuable lessons.
The road to barefoot running again was a little rough during the […]

Now, I will start off by saying that I Personally, simply avoid running in freezing weather, not a difficult task, since I live in southern California. Huntington Beach, California.
In case any southern California locals, or tourists, are interested in running at low-tide on Dog Beach with Herman and Barefoot Ken Bob, below are some low-tide predictions, during my Holiday break.

Chill air teased my nose as I began my trek across the slush turned snow. My cool feet were warmed by the friction of asphalt tap-downs as I moved onwards. Sky falling precipitation pattered my face. Partial ice glazes began growing with reflections of dim street-lamps standing above. I noticed my breath. The temperature was […]

some of us live in the land of frozen tundra, and can’t comfortably run barefoot in temps below 40F. Or even 45 F in my case.
I did my 2nd run in my SealSkinz tonight, and this was the first run on a snowy surface. I did 30 or so minutes on the local bike path, […]

There is wisdom in listening to our elders and learning from them. However, there is also wisdom in listening to our “youngers” sometimes.
I noticed some kids walking barefoot across a parking lot one time.
When they came to a rougher gravel-covered section, they all did some familiar things:
Bent their knees more
Shortened their strides more
Stepped more on […]
